History

Eco-Insulation, a wholly owned South African company, commenced operations in 2005 with a goal to upcycle a common waste product (discarded newspaper) into a highly effective, eco-friendly, thermal insulation solution. Eco-Insulation’s product is SABS approved, is fire rated and has won prestigious awards such as the Excellence Award from the Southern African Energy Efficiency Association and the National Productivity Institute. Eco-Insulation was selected by highly qualified engineers as the product of choice in the energy efficiency project at the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT) and the South African Astronomical Observatory complexes in Sutherland of the Karoo, Northern Cape. This project has received considerable publicity because a 20% saving in energy cost was achieved in an extreme and hostile climate after fitting Eco-Insulation.

Over the last twelve years, Eco-Insulation has successfully insulated thousands of South African homes and since the introduction of the new Energy Efficiency in Buildings legislation (SANS 10400-XA) in 2011, Eco-Insulation has been selected as the preferred and trusted insulation supplier and installer in many new large-scale, multi-residential developments around the Republic. Eco-Insulation is a proud and active member of TIPSASA, the Thermal Insulation Products & Systems Association of South Africa.
